Nokia Siemens Network [NSN] which bagged BSNL’s tender to broadband enable 7,000 villages has received an additional order to connect 25,000 villages. Apart from the rural broadband push, NSN is already working for BSNL in all the 20 circles to increase urban broadband penetration.

Partnership with NSN would give BSNL an edge over broadband service providers as it would be the first to cover rural areas on such a wide scale. This project will bridge the digital divide and connect more than 25,000 villages with broadband internet.
We have reliably learnt that NSN is deploying state of art equipment in building Gigabit ethernet capable IP network. NSN will also supply customer premises equipment enabling BSNL to provide broadband speed upto 8 Mbps.
