BSNL has dropped GRPS rates for existing 2G GSM subscribers effective immediately. This is a big step as they are offering UNLIMITED Data Transfer Plan, however, their speed truly sucks, especially if you are used to fast web browsing and working.
Details of BSNL GPRS 2G GSM Packages
- 3 Paisa / 10 KB – Pay as You use
- 100 MB Download Limit – Rs 49 for Post-Paid users and Rs 54 for pre-paid
- 300 MB Download Limit – Rs 99 for Post Paid and Rs 219 for pre-Paid
- 1 GB Download – Rs 199 for Post-paid and Rs 219 for pre-paid
- Unlimited Data Transfer – Rs 249 for Post-paid and Rs 274 fo pre-paid
It will be interesting to see if affordable pricing will lead to increase in Mobile Internet Usage. My guess, not without good network speed.
Yaar plan kum se kum aadmi ki aukat me to rakho.tabhi to koi iske baare main sochega.Abhi plan to sirf high society ke liye lag raha hai.middle class ka bhi to kuch khayal rakho.

postpaid wale kya prepaide walo se achche note dete hai kya???????phir rate diff kyoun
@ deepanshu
the rate are same to postpaid and prepaid, as rates given for prepaid are inclusive of service tax, but for postpaid are exclusive of service tax.
like unlimited data transfer plan is for Rs.249 for postpaid users, but after including service tax @10.3%, it shall be Rs.274.65.
Speed in BSNL 2G GPRS seems to be OK than Airtel 2G GPRS and I have tested the both area wise!
