The battle for Wireless broadband intensified as BSNL now has a competitor – Reliance. We review the BSNL 3G USB interface DataCards for HSDPA [a 3G service]. Kindly note that 3G calling and Voice services has been withdrawn in certain circles until the security equipments are deployed. 3G / EVDO broadband / data services is not related to the same issue.
The picture on your left is the DataCard that you will plug into your system to access 3G broadband. Ideal Data transfer limits using this card are 3.6 Mbps Download and 384 Kbps Upload. The data card supports Windows 2000/XP/Vista and also Mac but not Linux. Additional support for VAS such as in-built phone book for contacts management as well as SMS facilities including Group SMS.
BSNL 3G broadband services is currently available in 11 cities and will cost you Rs 3,000 for Unlimited Plan.
Update:
The cost of MMX 300G DataCard is INR 3801.00.
Hi All,
In the website and
BSNL shops say its speed is upto 3.1 to 7.2 Mbps
depending on the type of modem device and area. I was given micromax 310 G.
I assumed I have a device which supports 3.1 Mbps,
and a good coverage, then what can be the download speed…?
But sorry to say it does not go more than 150 to 200 KBps(for file download) in the worst case?
In last i will say BSNL 3G is totally fail. I am using now BSNL EVDO instead of 3 G now. If u want reach me u can call me on 9370906033
Hi,
I am using BSNL 3G 7.2MBPS data card and observed good speed upto 6 Mbps, but not the constant speed. Only problem is with the customer support, its too bad. I have paid Rs. 2500=00 towards data card and Rs. 4200=00 towards 6 months subscription. Its ok, ppl can go with that 3G

Hi there…….
I just wanted to know that can I make it work on ubuntu 10.10……….????????

Download avg speed : 1kb
I am crying like anything , I purchage BSNL data card capacity : 7MBPS

I am watching the hell in 3-D
I called to customer care , they told this not our support please call to BSNL office , Then I called to BSNL office indiranagar @080 25259151 at 11a.m monday 10 times no one picking the phone.
for 10min I compromised with myself it is all govt , there no proper management. They are invesing 1000 of crores in technology , not 5% in management…I goodness to expecting response from them,
I again called to customer care, she replied please visit the office .
BSNL 3G literraly sucks…I am in Pune (Vadgaonsheri area) and not even getting a speed of 10 KBPS..I can not even surf …forget abt youtube etc…
I bought bsnl 3g datacard 3.1 Mbps, dual band for Rs2500/= on 20 Nov 2010 ….its performance is pathetic. I get 3 signal strength linesat times 4..and 95% of times in 24hrs only 10-15KBps …which also frequently drops to 2 or 3 KBps. And becomes zero after 5 mins of movie download.
Even for web browsing i need to constantly refresh to get my web page text only.
I am disillusioned after this experience, that all indian telecom comnpanies are cheating customers like us with upto 3.1Mbps or upto 21 mbps speeds. In reality they cannot guarantee even 21 kbps speed consistently.
I recommend people opting for datacard to go for wire/cable based Broadband instead. Which again is cheating from Indian telecom companies. But its better than 3G datacard performance. I am confident even 4g or 1000G will not get me a good quality performance if promised by INdian telecos..including BSNL.
