Kindly note that 3G calling and Voice services has been withdrawn in certain circles until the security equipments are deployed. 3G / EVDO broadband / data services is not related to the same issue.
The picture on your left is the DataCard that you will plug into your system to access 3G broadband. Ideal Data transfer limits using this card are 3.6 Mbps Download and 384 Kbps Upload. The data card supports Windows 2000/XP/Vista and also Mac but not Linux. Additional support for VAS such as in-built phone book for contacts management as well as SMS facilities including Group SMS.
BSNL 3G broadband services is currently available in 11 cities and will cost you Rs 3,000 for Unlimited Plan.

No you can’t Both are Different. For 3G you need to take a new USB Dongle.
I bought a Bsnl 3G connection and must say, it’s a waste of money. My Airtel GPRS is better compared to Bsnl 3G.
It’s truly embarrassing how government organizations work in India 🙁

Actually i am planning to buy bsnl3g data card next month(750 per month unlimited plan).can u plz help me out how it’s working in bangalore and can we download movies at fastest speed?And i already have bsnl e-vedo card so can i exchange that data card with this one?any is 3g data card is free of cost or we have to pay for that?
After being tortured by BSNL Landline Broadband for 4 years, I purchased BSNL 7.2 MBPS 3G data card 3 days back. Obviously I expected speed of at least 2 MBPS. But in Yelahanka, Bangalor which is little out of the town I get speed varying from 200 KBPS to 400 KBPS which is way below my expectation. I tried the same in Marathalli, and the speed is 40 to 60 kbps. But surprisingly, the speed in CV Raman Nagar was 400 to 800 KBPS. My honest suggestion is, Do NOT GO FOR ANYTHING OFFERED BY BSNL.

bsnl 3g user ..i am also bsnl 3g user using as data card.. i found one issue of bsnl 3g using in my laptop..i need ur mail to conform this issue..the problem is that every 1 and half hour to 2 hr of connection .. that download speed get 000 and you will not able to open a single web page..and again we have to disconnect the net and connect it to get the speed ..did any one notice this,,if yes or no ..try it once and let me know my email id is robinopt.007@gmail.com. and pls give a complain about this to bsnl office i did..if u do complain then they will solve this issue. I tried different type of data card and my 3g mobile also to connect laptop and tried at different places its same problem

From yesterday, am observing the speeds are reducing drastically. Am just getting 800-1200 Kbps or 0.8-1.2 Mbps hardly.
Is anybody else too experiencing the same………? If yes please reply.
Do you know why is this happening? Is there any usage or speed capping in this BSNL unlimited scheme for 3G…..?
Or is it a network problem with some network device down?

Today I went to BSNL office and tried the demo of the 3G data card ( single band) with my Dell laptop ( 3GB RAM). It connects to the net ( 4bars out of five-signal strength) but the download speed was very low- Tested a youtube 2Min football clip but it stopped for data dwonload severla times. SO came back w/o buying- The landline broadband is much faster! SO 3G wireless may be good only for roaming- for homeuse stick with BB LL. Does anyone have a diff experience?
I am having BSNL 3g data card its speed is like to screw you royally. Even you are in city there network is pathetic download speed is worst just god only knows what the hell some bunch of idiot thought to launch such service when they dont deserve to launch 1x service properly (In the name of broadband most of day almost 70% u get 1x speed rest of time u just bang ur head what to do make these chinese made device to work)
