The battle for Wireless broadband intensified as BSNL now has a competitor – Reliance. We review the BSNL 3G USB interface DataCards for HSDPA [a 3G service]. Kindly note that 3G calling and Voice services has been withdrawn in certain circles until the security equipments are deployed. 3G / EVDO broadband / data services is not related to the same issue.
The picture on your left is the DataCard that you will plug into your system to access 3G broadband. Ideal Data transfer limits using this card are 3.6 Mbps Download and 384 Kbps Upload. i am using micromax 310G modem and it gives me speed of around 100 to 200 kBps. iff the network is good otherwise it gives only 20kBps. some people has confusion that the modem supports the speed upto 3.6mbps downloading then why it is not giving that speed then i would like to tell you that my dear friend 8bit=1byte so by this calculation 3.6mbps will be divided by 8 and will be equal to 3.6/8==0.45mBps or equal to 460kBps so if u r getting 200kBps speed on IDMthen it very good
I am using the BSNL 3G DATA CARD and getting very low speed upto 20Kbps. try to use another services. No customer services. Never booked any complaint through online or telephone.

hey guys plz dont’ go for this bsnl 3g service it totally sucks recently i purchased a capitel data card and the speed is just 120-200kbps to get a 600mb software updated on my mac it takes 11hrs that too i stay in vivek nagar bangalore…i’ve used phoon+ it is really value for money and has great speeds…overall i say bsnl 3g sucks…guys plz dont waste money buying this shit….
Hi folks,
Most of the above complaints about Bsnl network are true.
But the staff at Bsnl were kind enough to warn me in advance of these issues. They never promised me of the speeds but frankly told me that the infrastructure is not 3G ready every where and data rates vary drastically.
Today I will buy the 3G connection and write a comment on it later today.
By the way I am buying it in Bangalore.
I am getting 240-265 kb/second downloading speed with BSNL 3G SIM. Very much satisfied with the data card.
I am using visiontek 82 gh data card
The service from BSNL is decent, but there are a few issues:
1. Teracom modem is poor. Something keeps crashing, but the BSNL application remains open. 2. I use Windows 7 64-bit, and this problem is compounded in 64-bit edition.
3. Good 3G routers like ASUS don’t support this Teracom modem. BSNL gives only this Teacom modem, and has no option to take the 3G connection without a modem.
Download speed when it worked went up to 300KBPS (yes, not Kbps) which I don’t even get at my workplace.
I have ordered a Huawei E1550 modem which appears to be very popular worldwide and works with most routers. Once I receive that and connect this to my router (ASUS RT-N13U Rev.B1), I will come back here and post more on my experiences.
I bought 3G data card of 7.2mbps in Rajkot.
I think its my biggest fault of life. I am not getting speed of even 1kbps instead of 7.2 mbps.
For getting connect I have to change my desktop’s place and than I get speed of 1 or 2kbps.I use it in many computers and laptops but no change in speed. I think its a worst data card of India.
FRAUDBAND
bsnl 3g is just LOOOOOOT.
at least 70% of the time the speed is 0KBps.
it reaches fastest speed of about 255KBps for a nan-second to register it on your software/ bsnl modem software.
average download speed over a period of time is less than what you get on a dial-up connection.

Hi!
I have been using the 3G Huawei Data Modem for the last one year and for a change this BSNL product works great! It has a tendency to log onto 2G Edge and the choice has to be made in the network option for WCDMA. If there is no 3G network available in a particualr area then opt for WCDMA or GSM. WOrks very well throought the country
